olive-tree-small“I’ve been to several David Lanz Retreats and found it to be exhilarating…The entire weekend has an amazing energy to it. I have not ever experienced another like it!”
—Nancy Wilder, New York

Situated in the charming town of Paphos on the tiny island of Cyprus with it’s grand history and gorgeous Mediterranean beaches. And for those interested in more than sand and sun, you’re in for a treat, as Cyprus has archaeological sites, fine Byzantine churches, and monasteries and museums galore. It’s also a wonderful place to go hiking, with an incredible wealth of unique flora and fauna. English is widely spoken and along with local color, great food and wine, it all makes Cyprus a wonderful vacation destination!

This experience is a perfect musical holiday, and welcomes in all music lovers regardless of their abilities!

The complete “4 days with David Lanz” is designed for pianists, and musicians at all ability levels and includes morning workshops/discussions and creative group workshops, two private lessons tailored to the individual’s interests and skill level, daily light refreshments, a number of impromptu performances including the attendees concert, and a full evening David Lanz concert featuring vocalist extraordinaire, Kristin Amarie.

columns-smallThe “Music Lover” package includes all of the above, minus the private lessons.

It was created for those who may not even play the piano, but just love the music and want to observe and take a look behind the scenes. In addition, “Music Lovers” are also given the option to participate in the creative process and even in group performances if they wish!

“I attended as a ‘Music Lover,’ since I am not a musician and I only dabble in guitar. I was just going to watch, listen, and appreciate the creativity of the other participants. The energy in that room was up lifting…. the support from others was so genuine that it overcame all my barriers to play in front of people…”
—Tony Mangione, business consultant, Rochester, NY

Group Discussions and Workshops will focus on:

  • Individual and group performance
  • Song writing
  • Shaping lyrics
  • Creative group composition
  • The recording and production process
  • Composing and music theory
  • Private lessons (full workshop attendees only)

Other topics will include discussions on the music business, publishing and using social media and more.

cyprus-church-small“A David Lanz Retreat is truly a life changing experience. David is a great teacher and has the ability to tailor private lessons to your skill and ability level — you will, however, leave the retreat with more skills than you came in with!”
—Thomas Boduch, MD, Tennessee, USA

Kristin not only entertains us with her beautiful voice and performance, but also helps create a workshop format that is well planned and accommodating to participants of all skill levels.”
—George Whitehill, CEO, California, USA
